WEEKLY TRENDS: SOULFLY LOADS THE VAN, WALLS OF JERICHO RETURN, ALICE COOPER ROLLS OUT
Three moves that actually mattered this week. A family loading the van, a band ending an eight-year silence, and a lifer who refuses to sit down. Here is the pulse.
SOULFLY BRINGS THE FAMILY HOME: MAX CAVALERA LOADS THE VAN WITH NAILBOMB AND INCITE
Max Cavalera does not know how to sit still, and thank god for that. Soulfly just announced a 25-date US run this fall with Nailbomb and Incite riding along, kicking off September 18 at Louder Than Life in Louisville and grinding through to October 15 in Tempe. Read that lineup again. Nailbomb, the scorched-earth project Max built with Alex Newport, back on a stage. Incite, fronted by his stepson Richie. This is not a tour, it is a Cavalera family reunion with the amps cranked, three generations of the same tribal-metal bloodline in one building every night. Thirty years after he tore out of Brazil and rewrote what heavy could sound like, Max is still doing it the only way he knows: in the van, in the clubs, in your city. Tickets went up July 15. Flowers for the grind.
WALLS OF JERICHO BREAK AN EIGHT-YEAR SILENCE: SYSTEM ERROR: HUMANITY IS COMING
Eight years quiet and Walls of Jericho just kicked the door back in. System Error: Humanity lands November 13 on Napalm, their first new music since 2018, with Kurt Ballou behind the board and Randy Blythe and Guy Kozowyk showing up as guests. First single "The Ascent" is exactly the kind of pissed-off metallic hardcore that made these Detroit lifers matter in the first place. Nobody asked them to come back. They did it anyway. Flowers for the grind.
ALICE COOPER DRAGS THE ATTIC BACK OUT: FALL 2026 NORTH AMERICAN RUN
Alice Cooper booked another fall haul, October 27 in Clearwater through November 21 in Reno, carrying the "Alice's Attic" stage show city to city. The old ghoul is 78 and still working harder than bands a third his age. Respect.
Respeto.
