WEEKLY TRENDS: CYPRESS HILL GOES ALL-SPANISH, MASTODON RELOADS, JINJER CLOSES THE BOOK

By J. Tanner Garcia · July 2026

Three moves that actually mattered this week. One homecoming decades in the making, one band that reloaded instead of fading out, and one era going out loud. Here is the pulse.

CYPRESS HILL GOES ALL-SPANISH: DIOS BENDIGA IS THE HOMECOMING, NO TRANSLATION NEEDED

Thirty-something years deep and Cypress Hill just did the thing nobody dared them to do. Dios Bendiga drops July 24 on HYBE Latin America, their first record written and rapped front to back in Spanish. No English safety net, no crossover bullshit, just B-Real and Sen Dog going back to the roots that built them. And they did not do it alone. The tracklist is stacked with the family: Alemán, Trueno, La Santa Grifa, Sick Jacken, Mellow Man Ace, Coyote. That is not a feature list, that is a bloodline. For a band that gave a whole generation permission to be loud and brown at the same time, cutting a full album in Spanish is not a gimmick, it is a flag planted. Heritage is not a trend and these guys just proved it. Flowers for the grind.

MASTODON RELOAD: MARROW DEEP AND A FIVE-PIECE NOBODY SAW COMING

Mastodon just blew up their own blueprint. The Atlanta crew announced Marrow Deep for August 28, their first record as a five-piece after pulling in guitarist Nick Johnston and keyboardist João Nogueira. First taste is "Snakes for Dinner" with Josh Homme riding shotgun, and it rips. Twenty-plus years in and they sound hungry again, which is more than most bands can say when they add bodies instead of losing them. New blood, same weight. Flowers for the grind.

JINJER CLOSES THE BOOK: THE DUÉL RUN ENDS LOUD

Jinjer's 37-date North American haul is the last chapter of the Duél cycle, and it wraps July 25 at Warped in Long Beach. Crystal Lake and Entheos ran support the whole way, with Myke Terry filling in up front for Crystal Lake. Catch it before it is gone.

Facts checked July 2026. Cypress Hill: album title, release date, and label per the band's official announcement; tracklist and features per retail listings. Mastodon: album title, August 28 date, new lineup, and lead single per band announcement and press. Jinjer: tour billing, wrap date, and Crystal Lake fill-in vocalist per Blabbermouth, Jambase, and The Mosh.
